Mission: To promote understanding and friendship between the American people and the Chinese people by offering various cultural/educational classes and activities with schools and all kinds of community organizations.
Programs: Chinese Culture Center in Columbia offers Basic Chinese classes all year round at a nominal fee. There are weekday classes, evening classes, and weekend classes. Chinese Culture Center does not discriminate based on race, age, sex, handicap or religion. Chinese Culture Center also sponsors after-school programs and on-your-site classes of Tai Chi, Martial Arts, Ping Pong, Chess, Singing/Dancing, Math, Web Design, Programming Languages, Computer Classes, Internet Literacy, Musical Instruments, Calligraphy, Chinese Cooking, and most other classes you need. We also administer Substitute Teachers Program for local schools, Exchange Students Programs with China, Academic Summer Camps to China, and Tourist Groups to China. Chinese Culture Center has established partnerships with several local schools and senior centers to co-sponsor some cultural classes and activities on their sites.
How you can help: The agency's programs and services depend mostly on funding and donations from individuals and corporations and foundations. Contributions are tax deductible.
